International seminar and workshop 15.-16.5.2012

On 15-16 May, 2012 in Kotka, Finland, will be held the international seminar and workshop "Security Threats of Maritime Oil Transport in the Baltic Sea" arranged by Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences and Kotka Maritime Research Centre. The seminar is a part of the MIMIC project.

Authorities and maritime experts from Finland, Estonia and Russia will present lectures focusing on security threats of maritime oil transport in the Baltic Sea ia maritime security research needs, maritime terrorism and European maritime surveillance coooperation.

In order to participate seminar and/or workshop please fill in the registration form. The deadline for registration is the 30th of April, 2012. The seminar and workshops are free of charge. The seminar and workshop program and registeration form.

 
Flagship Project in the EUSBSR

MIMIC project accepted as a Flagship Project in the EU strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR)

MIMIC project has been accepted as a Flagship Project under heading "Minimizing the risk of transportation of dangerous goods by sea" and the project has been included in the Action Plan of the EUSBSR, January 2012 version. The Flagship status will help to ensure communication and visibility of the project and its results and to establish and maintain cooperation with other relevant Flagship Projects of the EUSBSR, in order to ensure coherence, exchange information and avoid duplication of efforts. In addition, MIMIC will have support from the Priority Area Coordinators in conveying relevant Flagship Project results and recommendations to the policy discussions and policy development in the Baltic Sea Region.
