WP1 Administration and communication

As the Lead Partner, Kotka Maritime Research Centre (KMRC) is in charge overall communication and project management and financial and narrative reporting. KMRA is also responsible for internal and external communication activities including planning and organization of meetings, workshops and joint seminars and for increasing public awareness by disseminating the project results.

WP2 Holistic risk management of winter navigation in Gulf of Finland

This work package is divided following tasks, following the general Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) concept introduced by IMO:
– Winter navigation hazard identification
– Development of winter navigation risk management model
– A model for ship performance in ice
– Study of Risk Control Options and Cost-Benefit Analysis

WP3 Update of Finnish-Russian contingency plan for combating pollution of the eastern GoF

Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE)

Work package 3 contain two main modules: first the existing bilateral contingency plan for combating pollution between Russian and Finland will be updated and second important task is to  define areas of vulnerability against an oil spill during winter time.
