SAFGOF - Evaluation of traffic increase in the Gulf of Finland 2007-2015 and the effect of the increase on the environment and traffic chain
activities
The cross-disciplinary studies carried out in SAFGOF project about the risks and the environmental effects related to maritime traffic
will continue in the MIMIC-project (Minimizing risks of maritime oil transport by holistic safety strategies). MIMIC has started on 1 May 2011 and
will continue until 31 December 2013. The project is funded by Central Baltic INTERREG IV A programme.

The final seminar of SAFGOF project was held on 16th of November, 2010, in Maritime Centre Vellamo, Kotka, at 12:30 - 16.15.
The guest lecturer of the seminar was John W. Tunnell, Harte Research Institute
for Gulf of Mexico Studies and Harte Research Scientist,
Regents Professor and Professor of Biology, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He gave a presentation about 'Recent Oil Spills: A Historical and Spatial Perspective'.
