MARITIME SAFETY WEEK

The Maritime Safety Week will be organized first time in Finland at the end of August 2015. The aim of the week is to give special attention to different issues related to maritime safety. During Maritime Safety Week several events theme related events will be organized both in Kotka and in Espoo:

IMISS 2015 – International Maritime Incident and Near Miss Reporting Conference

In Maritime Center Vellamo, Kotka

The topic of the IMISS 2015 conference is Safety-II thinking, which means proactive safety management approaches. The internationally recognized specialist professor Erik Hollnagel is invited to give keynote lecture which is titled “Bon Voyage – Sailing Safely from a Safety-II Perspective”. WED 26 AUG 2015

Maritime Search and Rescue Rehearsal will be arranged in Kotka by Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences, Etelä-Kymenlaakso Vocational College, Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District and Kymenlaakso rescue department. More detailed location will be informed later.
