Merikotka 2nd International Maritime Incident and Near Miss Reporting Conference (IMISS2013), Kotka, Finland 11-12 June 2013 The IMISS2013 conference and Special Sessions will be hosted by the Kotka Maritime Research Centre from 11th to 12th June 2013 in Kotka, Finland. IMISS2013 conference is a part of the project Competitive Advantage by Safety - CAFE, focusing on operational maritime safety in broad scale of topics. The 2nd International Maritime Incident and Near Miss Reporting Conference 2013 will bring together scientists working on maritime safety and operational maritime safety, corporate representatives, authorities and experts from maritime sector. Industry's own activity in safety matters, i.e. self?regulation, has potential to be the most effective way to improve maritime safety. Many human factor related policies, proactive maritime safety, E-navigation or employment and work safety of seafarers are issues that can be seen to have a major development potential in the future. Merikotkan vahvuutena on poikkitieteellinen lähestymistapa merenkulun tutkimukseen.
